概要	亜鉛化合物には、抗糖尿病作用があることが報告されている。しかしながら、多くの化合物では2型糖尿病の治療を目指したもので、1型糖尿病をターゲットにしたものではなかった。本研究で開発した数種の亜鉛錯体は、STZ誘発1型糖尿病ラットの血中グルコースレベルを低下させることが明らかとなり、亜鉛化合物は2型のみならず1型糖尿病にも有効であることを明らかにした。
